Supporting Lodges

Lodge Service Grants

Lodges throughout the country provide more than 1,000,000 man hours of service to their councils each year. In addition to this manpower lodges work with their councils on lasting projects like the construction or restoration of lake fronts, smaller camp buildings, archery and rifle ranges, and COPE courses. These more durable projects often require significant funding. Through the National OA Endowment lodges that have been recognized as a quality lodge may apply for a matching lodge service grant allowing them to complete these larger scale service projects within their council.

Since the inception of the lodge service grant program more than $300,000 has been awarded to local lodges in matching grants.

Kids to Camp Partnership

Every year, certain Scouts are unable to attend local summer camps because of not having qualified adults to provide leadership to the unit while at summer camp. The Get Kids to Camp Partnership solves this problem by providing the tools to coordinate with their respective council to organize chartered/provisional troops throughout the summer camp season. This now provides Scouts, who would have otherwise missed summer camp, an opportunity to attend.

The Get Kids to Camp Partnership program is very simple, but has the potential for powerful results. Local councils will be able to apply for grants to supplement adult summer camp fees. A council will be able to apply for up to four grants each year.

National Leadership Seminars

The four regions offer multiple National Leadership Seminars throughout the year giving nearly one thousand Arrowmen advanced leadership training annually. The NLS program offers the next stage of leadership training beyond the NYLT, allowing these youth leaders to better serve their councils and lodges.

Josh R. Sain Scholarships

Those Arrowmen who served in an exemplary manner as a section, region, or national officer, while maintaining the highest level of academics, are considered for Josh R. Sain memorial scholarships. Each year a dozen or more of these extraordinary youth leaders are selected to receive one of these scholarships based upon their service to Scouting and their involvement in their college or university during their term in office. Since 1998, more than $150,000.00 in scholarships have been awarded.
